Program Schedule Integration and Milestone Tracking

With large-scale initiatives such as new product development programs, major construction projects, and enterprise-wide computer system deployments, the people managing those efforts have the choice of creating one large project schedule to manage the work or multiple smaller integrated schedules. When using the smaller integrated project schedule approach, special techniques can be used to track the cross-project dependencies that exist, as well as the major milestones.

Microsoft Project and Project Server allow you to choose either approach when planning work for large initiatives. Learn the pros and cons for each approach, with special focus on how to use smaller integrated project schedules, how to manage the dependencies between those schedules, and how to track and report the major milestones.
